Moree is located in north west NSW where the Newell meets the Gwydir Highway. It is a beautiful oasis in the middle of one of the worst drought impacted areas. Moree’s claim to fame is being the home of artesian springs.

There are heaps of green leaved parks for a picnic 🧺 and you will even find a huge rocket 🚀 in one of them. For those that like a Sunday bbq you will find free barbecues in some parks but we do ask you clean up after you finish. The teenagers will love the skatepark while the walkers will enjoy the shared pathways.

The town’s pool 🏊‍♀️ complex, MAAC, is open all year round so that people can cool 😎 down with a dip in the big pool 🏊‍♂️ during summer and warm up in the hot artesian pools during the winter ❄️. You can enjoy a great kids water play area and a waterslide for a bit more adventure. Some people say the artesian spring water 💦 is very therapeutic but I reckon it’s just downright relaxing. There is also a bore that only the locals know about which is spectacular just as the sunsets.

For those that love 💕 architecture you will find some of the most beautiful Art Deco buildings here. Many were built after a fire 🔥 burnt down the main street just under a century ago. There is a heritage walk around the town that includes the Art Deco buildings, just pop in and see the tourist information people for the details.

Now if you are looking for a new place to set up home, Moree just might be that place. There is plenty of work with many different types of local businesses looking for good workers. You won’t necessarily get the managers job but you will be able to find something to pay to bills if your serious about working. There are a number of schools that cater from kindergarten to Year 12 as well as TAFE, Community Collage and Country University. We have the big supermarket chains as well as some fantastic specialty stores.

I have lived in Moree for almost 18 years but I was only staying for 2. I call it home 🏡 and don’t plan on moving anytime soon.

So if you are looking for somewhere new to visit or want a change of pace consider Moree. You will be pleasantly surprised.
